Virtuoso guitarist Thomas Maillet always had a two sides life: graduated in Classical guitar from prestigious establishments such as the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles or the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, he has nevertheless kept a busy activity in more improvised musical fields. He could share the stage with many young European jazz “cats”.
His formal musical studies started at the age of nine. He attented the classes of Hugues Navez in Brussels and Eliot Fisk in Salzburg. He had the great chance to receive advice and encouragement from classical guitarists Ricardo Gallen, Marcin Dylla, Emmanuel Rossfelder among others as well as immense artist and pianist Bernard Lemmens. He performed solo, in chamber music settings or with orchestras in Venezuela, Spain, United States of America, Austria or Belgium where some concerts were broadcasted by Belgian radio Musiq’3.
